Digi Expands ConnectED Program to 70 More Schools, Reaching Over 77,000 Students

Digi, in partnership with the Government of Belize and the Ministry of Education, has expanded its ConnectED program to 70 additional schools under Phase 2 of the initiative. The signing ceremony was held on February 21, 2024, at Our Lady of the Way Primary School in Ladyville.

With 213 schools already connected in Phase 1, this expansion brings high-speed internet, digital resources, and enhanced learning opportunities to over 78,000 students and close to 4,500 teachers—impacting 77% of primary and secondary schools nationwide.

“Connectivity is about providing access to knowledge, opportunities, and a brighter future.” Said Digi CEO Ivan Tesucum. Hon. Francis Fonseca, Minister of Education, highlighted the government’s commitment to digital learning in his keynote address.
