Digi, Belize’s National Telecom, proudly hosted its 18th Annual General Meeting on September 27th, 2024, under the theme “Leading Belize’s Digital Transformation.” The AGM reviewed the fiscal year from April 2023 to March 2024, a period characterized by significant growth and strategic expansions.
Digi announced a major enhancement to its nationwide connectivity, with a total of 171 mobile sites now in operation, with an additional seven sites under development, and an expansive Fiber Network covering 90% of homes throughout Belize. These investments highlight the company’s commitment to improving service accessibility for customers across the country.
Financially, Digi reported a robust performance, with an Earnings Per Share (EPS) of 46 cents. Total revenue for the fiscal year amounted to $152.9 million, resulting in a strong net profit of $25 million – a 16% increase compared to the previous year. The company proudly declared dividends of 22.5 cents per share, which is a 4.5% return on a $5 share, resulting in a total of $13.1 million in dividends to be paid out.
In his address, Digi’s CEO, Mr. Ivan Tesucum, reiterated the company’s dedication to “Leading Belize’s Digital Transformation by focusing on innovation, inclusivity, and viability.”
